This weekend, I traveled to the ATL to spend a weekend celebrating Jessica! Though we had to plan several months in advance to make sure we could all actually be there, it was time well spent to commemorate “the-weekend-that-shall-not-be-named.” (get the reference?)
We arrived Friday evening and began the weekend with drinks on top of the Westin at The Sundial. The bar spins so that you get a 360 degree view of downtown Atlanta! It was fun, but I must admit also severely disorienting. Spinning and a glass of wine on the 72nd floor…whew.
The next morning, we had planned to get up and go to breakfast. Apparently when we hit our pillows though, none of us realized how tired we were! We didn’t wake up until 10:45! Pretty sure it’s been forever since I’ve slept that late or that hard. So we got up, went to lunch at Tin Drum for some delicious pad thai, and did a little shopping at H&M and West Elm. We had also heard rumor of the “buggy escalator” at Target so we had to experience it for ourselves.
We then went over to Ashley’s aunt and uncles house (aka my dream house) to celebrate Mitchell’s birthday!
After a meal of cheeseburgers and Texas caviar, Ashley was ready to install her new shower head.
We capped off the weekend with a delicious brunch at Highland Bakery in the Virginia Highlands neighborhood of Atlanta. It was DELICIOUS!
I couldn’t have asked for a better weekend with long-time friends. It was relaxing, laid back, and a great time catching up! Even though it’s hard to get together when we all live in different cities with individually busy lives, it makes the time we do get to spend together that much more special.
I am so blessed to have such great friends!
